10 Guidelines to Help You Succeed in College

1. ATTEND EVERY CLASS.

2. COMMUNICATE OFTEN WITH YOUR INSTRUCTORS.

3. TO GRADUATE IN FOUR YEARS:
    a. enroll in 15 hours each Fall/Spring semester (or)
    b. enroll in 12 hours each semester and enroll in summer courses

4. COMPLETE ALL REQUIRED COURSES ON YOUR CURRICULUM CHECKLIST (124/125     CREDITS) TO EARN YOUR BACHELOR’S DEGREE.

5. TO EARN AN ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE COMPLETE ALL COURSES ON THE CHECKLIST      NOTATED WITH AN “a” (60-63 CREDITS).

6. RESEARCH YOUR MAJOR—OBTAIN A COLLEGE CATALOG AND READ ABOUT ALL CLASSES     REQUIRED IN THE MAJOR.

7. NOT ALL MAJOR COURSES ARE OFFERED EVERY SEMESTER; SOME ARE ONLY OFFERED     ONCE A YEAR. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE SCHEDULING OF YOUR COURSES.

8. CONSIDER YOUR OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES (WORK, FAMILY) WHEN SCHEDULING     CLASSES. DO NOT OVERLOAD YOURSELF.

9. THINK ABOUT ADDING A SECOND MAJOR OR A MINOR. SEE
    YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR FOR GUIDANCE.

10. SEE YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR EVERY SEMESTER.
