Position Summary:

The Career Services Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Career Services including the College’s student job posting system, marketing Career Center programs to the student body, graduates and employers, assisting with development of job and work based learning opportunities, referring or placing students/graduates in positions, managing and tracking grant-funded student internships, developing and implementing programming to assist students from college entry to graduation, and the oversight of the Job Placement Key Performance Indicator. This position is responsible for responding to questions regarding the services provided, evaluating career service needs, and accurate and timely completion of agreements and learning objectives.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and implement short-term plans to assist current students and graduates in obtaining appropriate internships and jobs
  • Develop short and long-term goals for the College’s Career Services Office based on a knowledge of local, state, and national, occupational, and labor market needs, trends, and opportunities
  • Assist students with job placement, produce reports on a semester basis and track graduates (6 months and 1 year out)
  • Monitor Job placement
  • Develop and/or maintain employer community relationships to assure career preparation internships and jobs are available for students
  • Collaborate with the Directors of Financial Aid and Human Resources to coordinate the work study program
  • Assist students and alumni with job search strategies, resume writing, cover letters, and interview techniques

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Educational Administration, Counseling, College Student Personnel or related field required
  • 3-5 years experience in higher education, recruiting and/or student personnel services or other similar experience
  • Excellent data management skills

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business, Educational Administration, Counseling, or related field preferred
  • Experience in Empower student database
  • Excellent interpersonal and public communications skills, verbal and written
